An important component of Connect Your Community is helping each participant to obtain an affordable home computer and home broadband access.
From the CYC proposal to the Broadband Technology Opportunity Program:
“[T]raining hours and a portion of the post-training support will be allocated to support each participant in developing a HomeConnect or CommunityConnect Plan… CYC Corps provide clients with an affordability analysis to help them select a specific HomeConnect Plan; those clients that cannot afford a home access solution will be directed to consider a public access or CommunityConnect Plan. ”
We are accomplishing this objective through training modules 7A-7D, followed by one-on-one work with each participant to create an individualized HomeConnect or CommunityConnect Plan.
