One of the greatest challenges of successful sustainable broadband adoption projects (including Connect Your Community) is access to low cost broadband. We are attempting multiple solutions, one of which is open mesh networks. The Lorain CYC set up an Open-Mesh Network at Lakeview Plaza, in partnership with the Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority. The recording and slides, led by Tim Howard, the CYC Program Administrator at Lorain Community College explains how the network was set up, why they chose open mesh and the costs involved.
